I know I’ve been gone forever, and I can’t promise I’m back for long, but I couldn’t resist commenting on TW drama Pursuit of Happiness (愛的生存之道), which ended just last week. How could I not, considering that this came from the same production team who did one of my most beloved TW dramas ever, In Time With You?
Quick drama description: 30-something old woman, Ji An Lei (Sonia Sui), is a successful career woman, scared of being single forever and dying alone, and carries a flame for her ex-boyfriend, who is back with a new girlfriend. And she gets a new roommate (Tony Yang), who happens to like that said new girlfriend. Sparks fly. Continue reading →
Da Ren finally makes some progress by ditching Naggie, and coming to terms with his feelings. Unfortunately, You Qing is still stuck firmly in denial land, and has to deal with the reappearance of an ex she’s never been able to forget. Continue reading →
In Time With You hit 2.34 in ratings with Episode 5!! 😀 But at the same time, Office Girls also hit 5.17, which is interesting, since it means that both dramas are increasing viewership, but tapping upon different viewers. Even Ring Ring Bell, at a desolate 3rd place, has been increasing its ratings these past 3 weeks.
So, just in case any of you are craving more In Time With You goodies, I’ve embedded the OST songs from the drama below. I know that I’ve been listening to these song on repeat all morning, and thought that perhaps others would enjoy them as well. Continue reading →
With this episode, we’re finally introduced to the second male lead (Nic was unfortunately just a short term distraction), forced to endure some more annoying Maggie hijinks, and stare in awe at the beautiful relationship between Da Ren and You Qing. On to episode 5! Continue reading →
As promised, I will be recapping the first 4 episodes of In Time With You, my latest obsession. However, due to my laziness and the whole real life constraints problem, I have slightly cheated and the recaps are a tad bit shorter than usual. Since I don’t want to keep you all waiting, I’m first posting the episode 1 recap, with 2-4 to follow in the next few days. Anywho, hope you enjoy my ramblings! Continue reading →
While a little something called life has recently caught up with me and temporarily paralyzed my drama blogging abilities, I have managed to slip away for a few moments to post about my latest obsession: In Time With You. Starring Ariel Lin and Bolin Chen as the leads, I had high expectations going in, especially considering the quality of the trailers and my love of Ariel Lin. Most times, I try to tone down my excitements and expectations, because rarely can a drama truly live up to them (see Hayate the Combat Butler), but In Time With You managed to not only meet my expectations but actually surpass them. After such a long dry spell in terms of decent Taiwanese dramas, I’m so pleasantly surprised by the recent crop of dramas that are all really good, albeit in their own way. Other than In Time With You, I find myself following Office Girls (typical exaggerated Taiwanese fare, but it grows on you, I promise!) and Ring Ring Bell (just premiered, but what I’ve seen so far I’ve liked) in addition to In Time With You. But at the end of the day, the drama that really stole my heart is ITWY (the initials remind me of ISWAK… ahh good memories). Continue reading →
